Dan Savage puts the media in its place

I know this story is old (pub. June 10), and I know this blog does not exist solely as a Dan Savage lovefest, but I just re-read his open letter to CNN and I have to thank the man for asking the media to own up to their bigotted coverage of actor David Carradine's death.

Thanks for making sense, Dan, even if it takes some vulgarity to get your point across:

I don't expect CNN to drop the story. But running in circles shrieking "OMG!!! HE WAS A FREAK!!! KINKY!!! TIED UP!!! ASKING FOR IT!!!" isn't helpful.

Duh, America.
